19th GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND ANNUAL MEETING OF AEDAF

The 19th General Assembly and Annual Meeting of AEDAF will be held on Saturday, 1 April 2017 in Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid. This year we are pleased to have representatives of HAEi with us: Anthony Castaldo, President; Henrik Boysen, Executive Director; and Maria Ferron, Regional Patient Advocate for the Mediterranean countries. We will also be screening “Special Blood”, Natalie Metzger’s documentary about HAE.

PATIENT WORKSHOP IN EXTREMADURA

On 19 January 2017, AEDAF held its 11th patient workshop in Cáceres (Extremadura) with an attendance of around 40 people (sponsored by Shire).

HAEi/AEDAF Camino Walk 2017

After the very successful HAEi/AEDAF Camino Walk on the legendary Camino de Santiago in northwestern Spain during the days leading up to the HAE Global Conference 2016 in Madrid, HAEi has decided to go ahead and organize a Camino Walk to commemorate the global awareness day for HAE, haeday :-), in 2017. CW17 is open for registration and there is still time to sign up:

WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY

In the event of an emergency (serious attack, and in particular inflammation of the tongue, throat or airway):

Go immediately to the emergency room of your hospital or the healthcare clinic nearest you. Always take with you your medical report, the AEDAF membership card if you have one and your rescue medicine (Berinert® or Firazyr®) if you keep it at home.

If you cannot go to a hospital or clinic because of your condition or lack of transportation, immediately call the emergency call center telephone 112.

You can also try to call AEDAF – tel. 629 477 566 – to ask for more advice.
