Early 2016 HAEi appointed five Regional Patient Advocates, dividing a large portion of the world between them. As per 1 July 2017, they are joined by Patricia Karani who will be focusing on the sub-Sahara part of the African continent.

Patricia Karani was born in Nairobi, Kenya where she is currently residing. She holds a university degree in Sociology and Economics as well as a higher advanced diploma in Human Resource Management, and she has a decade of experience in the HR field. Today she is working in the food and hospitality industry. Patricia, who was diagnosed when she was about 18 or 19 years old, is the founder of HAE Kenya.
