As mentioned in the previous communication of 27 February 2020, HAE International is carefully monitoring the developing global situation regarding COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) to the extent that it could affect our upcoming 2020 HAE Global Conference in Frankfurt.
The health and well-being of everyone in the HAE community is of paramount importance to us, which is why we are also regularly consulting with medical advisors. We understand and share the concerns we are hearing from conference participants given the uncertainty.
Furthermore, we continue to closely follow (and comply with) the health and travel related recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the guidance provided by the German health authorities. We recognize the growing concern over the current situation and have, therefore, been in contact with the local authorities to obtain their official analysis and precautionary measures. We are awaiting feedback on our requests.
At this time, we ask that you join us in following the recommendations from the WHO (www.who.int), and to await further information before taking action.
