December 2019: A success during the last few months includes contacting Dr. Patricia Latour, an Allergist and Epidemiologist from the Dominican Republic. Dr. Latour is president of the Latin American Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. According to information provided by Dr. Latour, the Dominican Republic has identified 22 patients in clinics around the country. Dr. Latour indicates that the country has all the tests available to identify C1-INH deficiency, including C4 and C1-INH quantitative and qualitative lab tests. She explains that in the Dominican Republic there are no modern therapies for treating HAE.
